  We arrived home after a few days away to find water pouring through the ceiling and most of the downstairs rooms saturated. This was a big shock which was overwhelming and potentially depressing. It was obviously an extremely stressful experience.

  The following Monday the team from DisasterCare arrived to take care of us. From the outset, nothing was too much trouble and we felt that we were in caring hands. Carpets had to be removed and taken away. An antique stool, precious as a family heirloom, was severely damaged but we were assured that it could be restored. 

  The drying out process began within hours of the DisasterCare team's arrival. One wall remained saturated but once the plaster was removed it could be seen that the breeze blocks were still holding a lot of water. Eventually, they turned from black to grey, and not long after the house was declared dry.

  We have been back home for nearly three weeks and most of the many boxes have been unpacked. There is quite a lot to be done but our life feels to be ‘back on track’ and we just feel so happy to be home.

  We would like to express our sincere and heartfelt appreciation to everyone who helped. Nothing was ever too much trouble and we always felt reassured and cared for. Throughout the whole process, we were treated with respect, courtesy, and understanding. We simply could not have had a better service.

  I feel impelled to let yourselves know that the guys from DisasterCare, in particular Rashid, found a cache of my mother's jewellery that we for the last 20 years have been desperately looking for after my mother’s death. All these years we assumed it was lost.

  In short, the honesty of your guys, in particular, Rashid has made my family very happy and I want to say a big thank you to you all, it's restored my faith in humanity.

  The contact after our incident was quick & the manager (Re'ad) attended site within 2 days. Re’ad was reassuring, professional and knowledgeable. I was impressed that he took some of the easier to manage & obviously soiled textiles away for cleaning straight away.
